Pokémon Debuts
Maschiff, the Rascal Pokémon, and Mabosstiff, the Boss Pokémon, will make their Pokémon GO debuts!
You might find Maschiff in Eggs, Field Research, or via the GO Pass.
You can use 50 Maschiff Candy to evolve Maschiff into Mabosstiff.
Mega Raids
Starting with the Mega Squads event, Mega Beedrill and Mega Houndoom can increase their Mega Level to Super Max for the first time in Pokémon GO.
While Mega Evolved, eligible Beedrill can use the additional Charged Attack Fell Stinger+ (Trainer Battles: 40 power and increases Attack by one stage; Raid Battles: 140 power). Eligible Houndoom can use Dark Pulse+ (Trainer Battles: 60 power; Raid Battles: 150 power). Both attacks grow stronger with Mega Level.
You must increase a Pokémon's Mega Level to Max before increasing it to Super Max. Participate in Mega Raids and catch Weedle, Pidgey, Houndour and Carvanha during the event to earn the Mega Energy needed.

For the first time in Pokémon GO, you'll be able to encounter Shiny Flamigo — if you're lucky!
Flamigo may appear in the wild, in Eggs, or through Field Research and GO Pass encounters.

Field Research Task Encounters
Field ResearchEvent-themed Field Research tasks will be available. The following Pokémon will be available to encounter when you complete Field Research tasks.
From September 8, 10:00 a.m. – September 11, 10:00 a.m. local time, tasks are themed around Bug- and Flying-type Pokémon, catching Flamigo, and spinning Stops or Gyms — plus a guaranteed Flamigo encounter for hatching an Egg.

GO Pass: Mega Squads
GO PassGO Pass: Mega Squads is available from Tuesday, September 8, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, September 14, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
Every rank costs 100 GO Points. Complete Rank 30 to unlock 30 bonus ranks, with additional rewards through Rank 60. The free track and the GO Pass Deluxe track pay out side by side — Deluxe holders claim both.
In addition to Pass Tasks, you can earn up to 500 extra GO Points daily: win a raid for 100 points, hatch an Egg for 40 points, or catch a Pokémon for 5 points. Daily Tasks award 10 GO Points per milestone for catching 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Weedle, and the same for Flamigo (50 GO Points per set).
Progress through the free track to earn encounters with event-themed Pokémon, Mega Energy for Beedrill and Houndoom, an Incubator, Rare Candy, Ultra Balls and more. Trainers who upgrade to GO Pass Deluxe also earn a Maschiff Jersey, additional encounters, even more Mega Energy, Super Incubators and Rare Candy XL.
Ranks 31 through 59 repeat the same reward, so they are shown once as a single collapsed row before the Rank 60 finale.
Rewards unlocked in the GO Pass expire on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time — claim them before they're gone. Keep an eye out for additional bonus tasks for this GO Pass during the event!
